Snowy River Zen Center

“We practice with people, first of all. But the goal is to practice with mountains, trees, and stones—with everything in the world, in the universe—and to find ourselves in this big cosmos, this big world.”
-Shunryu Suzuki

Begin Your Journey

All are welcome to come visit and join the practice of Snowy River Zen Center. Our Buddhist teaching and practice flows from, but is not limited to, the Soto Zen lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. The traditional Soto Zen forms of practice are taught and observed here, however, there is no obligation to follow them. One can come, visit and join our practice at whatever level of formality they are comfortable.

All events of Snowy River Zen Center are free and open to the public. No self-identification of faith or religious affiliation is required for participation.

Join Shinko Rick Slone in the Healing Roots studio every Sunday morning for silent zen meditation followed by teaching and conversation. No registration or experience is necessary. All are welcome to attend!

Services are held weekly every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.

Arrive a few minutes before 8:30 to get settled, or if it is your first visit.

Deepen Your Practice

"In order not to leave any traces, when you do something, you should do it with your whole body and mind; you should be concentrated on what you do. You should do it completely, like a good bonfire."
-Shunryu Suzuki
